THIBODAUX, LA.–Entergy Louisiana provided a $110,000 grant to South Louisiana Economic Council as part of the company’s efforts to support regional economic development across the state.
Entergy’s investment helps to fund SLEC’s economic development goals, including business recruitment and retention and workforce development, among other initiatives, in the Bayou Region – specifically the parishes of Assumption, Lafourche, St. Mary, and Terrebonne.
“The Bayou region is consistently ranked one of the strongest regional economies in the nation thanks to our significant natural resources, strong college systems and dedicated workforce,” said Vic Lafont, SLEC president and CEO. “The support from partners like Entergy Louisiana fuels our ability to both maintain and advance this ranking. We are grateful for partnerships that help us provide key business resources within our four-parish community.”
Through its Business and Economic Development team, Entergy Louisiana works with state and local government agencies, economic development organizations and community partners to attract new businesses and jobs to Louisiana.
“Our team offers comprehensive support and resources that are vital for businesses looking to move or expand in Louisiana, including a site selection website and access to business and community leaders along with state and regional partnerships,” said Perry Pertuit, Entergy Louisiana new business development manager. “To help Louisiana thrive, it’s paramount that we continue strong, productive partnerships with organizations like SLEC. Together, we can go beyond the power grid to help our friends and neighbors realize opportunities where they want to — right here at home.”
